Veterinary Assistant Internship

The Veterinary Assistant Internship is a part time position in the Six Flags Wild Safari reporting to the Veterinary Technician and Veterinarians that provides assistance in the day to day operations of the Veterinary Staff in patient care, treatment plans, daily rounds, clinic cleaning organizing, and restocking.
Specific Duties &
Responsibilities:
Work with Veterinary Staff to maintain a high level of patient care throughout the animal park which includes excellent communication between the Veterinarians, Veterinary Technician, Curator Staff Warden Staff, and Seasonal Staff.
Prepare and dispense daily medications.
Prepare and process diagnostic samples for submission to outside laboratories.
Perform in house diagnostics including but not limited to packed cell volumes, total protein, fecal parasite evaluation, urinalysis and urine sediment exams, and cytology.
Assist with preventative and active health programs including urine and fecal collections, blood draws, drawing up medications and administering medications.
Keep neat and written notes for anesthesia procedures, daily animal observations and be able to input records into ZIMS (computerized medical records program).
Assist with cleaning and disinfecting various animal holding pens in the clinic.
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older
Must have a valid driver's license.
Some animal experience in the veterinary field is recommended.
Outgoing, approachable, and positive attitude.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications.
Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Be able to sit or stand for long periods, bend, crouch and climb.
Follow all Six Flags company policies and procedures.
Be able to work in or around water and be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Other duties as assigned by park leadership.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
