Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Work in Group Home - shift available :
Friday & Saturday, 11pm - 8am
Sunday, 11pm - 9am
Paid Trainings Mileage Reimbursement Sign-On Bonus
Experience preferred
Must possess valid NJ/NY/PA driver's license
In order to be eligible for employment, applicant must not have more than 5 points on their driving record and no DUIs within the last 3 years.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
Assist in the training of clients in necessary areas
Perform necessary tasks for individual
Carry out any training programs and behavior management techniques as may be established
Performs typing, cleaning or any other tasks assigned by the Program/Unit Manager as required
Assure each individual attends day programming promptly and on a regular basis
Ensure security and confidentiality of all assigned Alternatives, Inc. records
Follow all policies and procedures relative to this position
Cooperate with Alternatives, Inc. and the N.J. Department of Human Services in all inspections or investigations
Basic record keeping to include proper shift documentation as directed by the Program/Unit Manager
Act as a role model for each resident in a variety of situations that might exist for each individual
Participate in staff meetings as directed by the Program/Unit Manager
Ensures Alternatives, Inc.'s person-centered philosophy.
Participates as a team member in planning, implementing and evaluating services provided by the Program
Handles a crisis situation
Ensure operational effectiveness in emergency situations by providing services at Alternatives, Inc.'s program sites as assigned
Strong interpersonal skills required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
